Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated practitioner with a passion for helping every child thrive? Our welcoming primary school in Enfield is looking for an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join our skilled inclusion team.
We are a mainstream school with a well-established provision for children with Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is valued, understood and supported to reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
Work closely with non-verbal autistic pupils to support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
Use sensory-based strategies and resources to meet high sensory needs and reduce barriers to learning
Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom and specialist provision
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and external professionals to deliver personalised learning plans
Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils and families
Champion inclusion and help create a calm, structured, child-centred environmentWhat We’re Looking For
Experience working with autistic children or children with complex sensory needs
A warm, patient and resilient approach
An understanding of communication strategies (PECS, visuals, AAC—training can be provided)
Someone creative, proactive and ready to tailor their approach to each child
