Full-time | Monday to Friday | Start: 1st September £95–£120 per day, depending on experience and PAYE or umbrella preference.

We are looking for a caring, confident and highly attentive 1:1 Teaching Assistant/Support Worker to support a male Year 9 pupil with significant medical needs relating to a skin condition. This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity for someone who can provide consistent support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to access learning safely, feel comfortable and build a positive, trusting relationship.

The role will involve:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 9 pupil, five days a week
  • Supporting the pupil during lessons, transitions, breaktimes and around the school site
  • Maintaining a safe space around the pupil and reducing the risk of accidental contact due to his medical needs
  • Being alert, calm and proactive in ensuring his safety and wellbeing throughout the day
  • Building a warm mentoring relationship β€” someone he can trust, talk to and have a laugh with
  • Working closely with teaching staff and following the school’s guidance and care procedures
  • Encouraging confidence, engagement and positive participation in learning

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous care, medical-support, SEN or Teaching Assistant experience
  • Is patient, compassionate, observant and reliable
  • Can remain calm and responsive in situations where a pupil may need additional support
  • Understands the importance of professional boundaries, safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Can build positive relationships with young people
  • Is available full-time from 1st September

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service would be required and all appointments are subject to successful safeguarding, compliance and DBS checks. If you have the right experience and would like to make a genuine difference to a young person’s school experience, we would love to hear from you.
