Create Education are working with two welcoming federated primary schools in Lewisham who are looking for a confident, adaptable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join them from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA who enjoys working closely with pupils, supporting learning and helping children make progress across the primary age range.

The role will involve providing strong classroom support, working alongside class teachers and supporting individual pupils and small groups to ensure all children can access the curriculum and thrive in their learning. The schools are looking for a reliable and engaging LSA who can build positive relationships quickly, provide consistent support and create a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom & Learning Support: You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout lessons, helping children stay engaged, focused and on task. You will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils understand instructions, complete activities and develop greater confidence and independence.
• Supporting Pupils Across the School: You will support pupils across the primary age range and work with children with a range of learning needs and abilities. This may include supporting pupils with SEND, delivering interventions, reinforcing key learning and helping children develop positive learning habits.
• 1:1 & Small Group Support: You will provide focused support to pupils who may require additional help with their learning, communication, confidence or behaviour. You will be able to follow teacher-planned interventions and adapt your support to meet individual pupil needs.
• Behaviour & Positive Relationships: You will help maintain clear routines and expectations in line with school policy, using positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and focus. The schools are looking for someone who can provide consistency, patience and a calm presence, while building strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Teamwork & Communication: You will work closely with class teachers, year group teams and senior leaders to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support. You will communicate regularly with teachers about pupil progress, engagement and behaviour, and contribute to creating a positive classroom environment.
• Safeguarding & Wellbeing: You will prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, following safeguarding, child protection and health and safety procedures at all times. You will help create an inclusive environment where all children feel supported, valued and ready to learn.

Interview Process: LSA candidates will be invited to meet with the school and may be asked to complete a classroom-based task or observation, allowing the school to see how you interact with pupils and support learning. If successful, this will be followed by a formal interview.
