Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people who need a different kind of education? We are seeking a Therapeutic Integration Practitioner (TIP) to join a specialist outreach education service supporting children and young people with complex needs who are unable to access traditional classroom learning. This is a deeply rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping learners move from isolation to independence, through a carefully structured, therapeutic and person-centred approach.
About the Role
As a TIP, you will be central to the assessment, induction, and integration journey of new learners. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including education staff, clinical practitioners, and inclusion specialists to ensure each young person receives a tailored and holistic support plan. You will hold a caseload of students during their assessment and integration phase, supporting them to access education in community settings and within their homes, gradually building confidence, engagement, and readiness for structured learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the induction and integration process for new learners
- Develop individualised learning timetables with families and professionals
- Carry out and contribute to holistic assessments and baseline evaluations
- Attend weekly referral and integration meetings to review progress
- Work collaboratively with therapists, educators, and inclusion teams
- Create and implement education, pathway, behaviour, and support plans
- Support learners to access community-based learning opportunities (e.g. libraries, centres, outreach venues)
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Ensure all documentation, risk assessments, and reports are completed accurately and on time
- Support learners through therapeutic, trauma-informed, and person-centred approaches
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with young people with SEMH, ASC, trauma, or complex needs
- Confident working in education, youth work, social care, or therapeutic settings
- Highly organised, resilient, and able to manage a varied caseload independently
- Skilled in building trusting, therapeutic relationships
- Knowledgeable in SEND, EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusion practices
- Calm under pressure and confident using de-escalation strategies
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve independence
A qualification in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work or a related field is desirable, along with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
