  • We’re looking for a talented and experienced

Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our Geo-Environmental team.

This senior role will help us deliver a robust package of geotechnical services and ensure we continue to provide excellent design advise to our internal and external engineering design teams and clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and client-focused approach across a diverse portfolio of projects for both public and private sector clients.

You’ll collaborate with like-minded professionals across the UK, interact closely with our internal civil and structural design teams and play an active role helping to shape a dynamic and growing team.

  • WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Design and lead Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental assessment projects to a diverse client base.
  • Prepare / technical review interpretative assessment reports for site investigations.
  • Work closely with our internal civil, structural and environmental engineers to deliver design parameters and deliver integrated solutions on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Manage and delivery for our existing client base and develop new and existing clients through excellent project delivery.
  • Spearhead the develop of the geotechnical team and skill set through mentoring, resource development and recruitment.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings as required.
  • Develop creative and practical solutions that meet clients’ needs.
  • Help delivery structured mentoring and support to help team members ork towards professional qualifications.
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • A degree / master’s degree in geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental science or a relevant subject.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years’ plus experience in the geo-environmental / geotechnical industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead on multi-disciplinary projects collaborating with other technical teams and deliver profitable projects.
  • Ability to manage / develop existing clients through excellent communications, problem solving and project delivery.
  • Identify and develop new work / client opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and develop learn.

  • Chartered Engineer or Geologist (or working towards).
  • Able to technically manage a wide range of geotechnical projects to provide solutions to ground engineering problems.
  • Notable experience in the industry, development clients and project delivery.
  • Track record in client development and securing new work streams.
  • A working knowledge of social and digital media channels with a view to using these to promote not only your work but also the business.
  • Experience in delivering CPD or training to internal teams and external (client) audiences.

Graduate – 0-2 years’ experience with a relevant degree.

Engineer / Consultant / Technician – 2-5 years’ experience in the role or similar with some technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

  • 5-8 years’ experience in the role or similar with a developing set of skills, clearly identifiable technical expertise and direct experience of managing projects, coordinating with clients and supporting other team members.

  • Engineer / Consultant / Technician
  • 8 or more years’ experience in the role or similar with a robust set of skills, proven technical expertise and an ability to lead projects, coordinate with clients and support other team members .

Associate Director – 10–15 years’ experience in the role with recognised technical expertise, the ability to lead multiple large projects, coordinate with clients, support and develop other team members and secure future workstreams/projects for the discipline.

  • 15 or more years’ experience in the role with recognised technical expertise and authority within the industry.

Capable of defining discipline strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring technical excellence across all projects.

Proven ability to lead multiple large-scale or complex schemes, whilst developing and sustaining long‑term client relationships, and actively contributing to business growth.
