We’re seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team and take on a key role in delivering high-quality technical advice and solutions for development projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your expertise, work closely with clients, and mentor junior colleagues in a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll contribute to a diverse range of projects, work alongside like-minded professionals and support the continued growth of a dynamic team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Play a key role in the planning and design process for civil engineering projects (these projects include everything from commercial and retail structures to more complex infrastructure like data centres and anaerobic digestion plants, as well as essential infrastructure like roads, bridges, drainage, and water supply).
- Produce and check design concepts, calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Ensure all designs, plans and projects comply with local and national building codes, standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on projects of varying scales and complexity.
- Supervise junior team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Support the professional development of colleagues through mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, including planning and reporting.
- Prepare and review feasibility studies, appraisal reports, assessments and other written documents.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology or related subject.
- 5–8 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical background in the design of infrastructure and non-infrastructure works.
- Proficiency with design software such as CAD, PDS, Live Design, Flow, PDS Sign, Microdrainage, Civil 3D, and BIM.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage projects and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
