We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to join our Transport & Highways team. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your degree, develop your skills, and gain hands-on experience working on real projects that make a positive impact. At Create, you’ll work on a wide range of projects across the UK, collaborate with like-minded professionals, and play an active role in a dynamic and supportive team. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Support the preparation of transport assessments, statements, travel plans and feasibility studies.
  • Assist with junction modelling, trip generation calculations and capacity assessments.
  • Learn to use industry-standard software and tools to analyse and present data.
  • Help produce clear, concise technical reports and drawings/figures.
  • Work alongside planners, engineers, architects and senior transport specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings with senior colleagues to gain experience.
  • Contribute to creative and practical solutions that meet clients’ needs.
  • Develop your understanding of relevant policies, guidance and best practice.
  • Gain structured mentoring and support to work towards professional qualifications in the future.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject.
  • An interest in sustainable transport, highways design, planning and development.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical ability, with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; any exposure to transport software (Junctions, TRICS, LinSig, etc.) is a plus but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Relevant placement or internship experience in transport planning or consultancy.
  • Knowledge of UK transport policy, NPPF, LTN1/20 or similar guidance.
  • Experience presenting university projects or group work to others.
  • A working knowledge of social and digital media channels with a view to using these to promote not only your work but also the business.
