We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to join our Transport & Highways team. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your degree, develop your skills, and gain hands‑on experience working on real projects that make a positive impact. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Support the preparation of transport assessments, statements, travel plans and feasibility studies.
- Assist with junction modelling, trip generation calculations and capacity assessments.
- Learn to use industry‑standard software and tools to analyse and present data.
- Help produce clear, concise technical reports and drawings/figures.
- Work alongside planners, engineers, architects and senior transport specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
- Attend site visits and client meetings with senior colleagues to gain experience.
- Contribute to creative and practical solutions that meet clients’ needs.
- Develop your understanding of relevant policies, guidance and best practice.
- Gain structured mentoring and support to work towards professional qualifications in the future.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject.
- An interest in sustainable transport, highways design, planning and development.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong numeracy and analytical ability, with attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; any exposure to transport software (Junctions, TRICS, LinSig, etc.) is a plus but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
- Relevant placement or internship experience in transport planning or consultancy.
- Knowledge of UK transport policy, NPPF, LTN1/20 or similar guidance.
