Approved BEMS Electrical Installation Engineer. Responsible for executing complex electrical installations for various building technology systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with our project management teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Installation: Lead installations according to detailed technical drawings and specifications, including: Installing cable containment systems (metal/plastic), laying cabling for power, control, and networking, performing second fixing and connections of technology equipment.
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct point-to-point tests, ensuring accuracy and reliability of electrical installations. Carry out comprehensive Electrical Inspection and Testing per BS7671.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Complete Electrical Installation Certificates for inclusion in project documentation.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, promptly diagnosing and resolving electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all installations, inspections, and materials utilised.
- Technical Support & Mentorship: Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to electricians and apprentices within your team.
- Safety & Best Practice: Follow risk assessments, method statements, and maintain a safe working environment, adhering strictly to all health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Essential Qualifications: Qualified Approved Electrician (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification, minimum two years' experience as an Installation or Maintenance Electrician after completing training, demonstrated competence in Electrical Inspection and Testing, holding one of the following: NET Advanced Assessment of Competence (AAC), or Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installations Inspection, Testing & Certification, or both Level 3 Awards in Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection (e.g., City & Guilds 2391-52), or equivalent from EAL or LCL awards. Must have valid right to work in the UK.
- Desirable Qualifications: Additional qualifications in building services or electrical engineering, specialised certifications or experience with BEMS, lighting control systems, security, audio-visual, or home automation technologies.
Experience:
- Proven experience carrying out complex electrical installations within building services or construction environments.
- Experience working in High End or Luxury Residential sectors.
- Solid track record of inspecting, testing, and certifying electrical installations to BS7671 standards.
- Practical experience mentoring junior electricians or apprentices.
