Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager in the UK to join their team. Under the direction of the Commercial Director, the Business Development Manager will support business development throughout Europe. The role includes discussing and managing requirements for customers and ensuring ongoing development and growth. The position requires regular communication with sales and operational staff to offer support and assistance, as well as engaging with high level customer contacts responsible for key purchasing decisions at asset and corporate levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end RFQ process by evaluating client requirements, preparing and submitting competitive quotations, following up strategically, and leveraging market insights to convert opportunities into profitable business wins.
  • Lead face-to-face engagements with prospective and existing clients, conducting detailed techno-commercial discussions to understand project requirements, present tailored solutions, and position the company as a strategic partner.
  • Develop and manage strategic customer relationships through proactive key account management, engaging from initial project discussions through to final data delivery.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities in unconventional or emerging market segments across multiple regions by analyzing industry trends, customer challenges, and unmet needs.
  • Prepare and respond to technical and commercial inquiries, including the development of compelling proposals and timely responses to client requests.
  • Proactively engage with key decision-makers at the corporate level, both nationally and internationally, to promote long-term partnerships.
  • Continuously monitor competitor products, pricing models, marketing campaigns, and sales strategies to gain actionable market intelligence.
  • Collaborate closely with regional leadership during the annual budgeting and planning cycle to align business development strategies with overall corporate objectives.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prepare and present comprehensive weekly reports that include detailed sales figures, individual and team activity metrics, current pipeline status, deal progression, and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in oil & gas industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks along with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong background in both technical sales and oilfield technologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of office procedures and business operations.
