Position Overview Stormfield Capital, LLC (“Stormfield”) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Bridge Loan Underwriter. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting short-term real estate loans ranging from $1 million to $30 million. You will assess borrower creditworthiness, collateral quality, market conditions, and overall transaction viability. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound risk-based decisions in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. Key Responsibilities ·Underwrite commercial bridge loans for various property types, including multifamily, mixed-use, retail, light industrial, office, and special use assets. ·Collect and analyze borrower financials, credit reports, operating statements, rent rolls, appraisals, and third-party reports. ·Conduct market and asset-level due diligence to assess risks and determine collateral quality. ·Prepare and present detailed credit memos and underwriting packages for investment committee review. ·Collaborate with originators, asset managers, legal counsel, and third-party vendors to drive loan execution. ·Monitor loan pipeline and proactively flag underwriting issues or red flags. ·Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines. ·Participate in structuring terms and identifying mitigants to credit risk. ·Support loan closing and documentation process through funding. Qualifications ·Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CCIM) a plus. ·2+ years of relevant underwriting experience in commercial real estate debt, preferably with bridge loans or transitional assets. ·Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals, valuation methods, and loan structures. ·Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and cash flow analysis (Excel-based). ·Experience with CRE research platforms, financial modeling software and CRM systems (e.g., CoStar, Reonomy, Argus, Rockport VAL, Salesforce, etc.). ·Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to articulate credit rationale clearly. ·Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial team environment. ·Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
