DBA Expert - Sybase/PostgreSQL

Sybase & PostgreSQL team in Singapore is responsible for day-to-day operational services on the infrastructure of Europe (mainly France, UK) and Asia remotely from Singapore. France infrastructure represents approximately 80% of the worldwide production activities of CA-CIB in Singapore.

Job Title: Sybase & PostgreSQL Expert

Job Responsibilities:

1. Act as the last level of escalation for the team members.
2. Own Incident, Problem, and change management process for the team.
3. Assign technical tasks and manage delegation.
4. Encourage collaboration and sharing of practices within the team.
5. Participate in recruitment processes for the team.
6. Actively involved in incident management (fault investigation, resolution escalations of all monitoring alerts and user initiated problem calls/tickets).
7. Be the final technical approver for any changes into Sybase and PostgreSQL technology.
8. Involved in projects like End of Life, New Builds, migrations, and technical upgrades.
9. Participate in global Infra events (like Power down and DR Tests).
10. Ensure compliance with norms, standards, processes, and procedures.
11. Maintain up-to-date and relevant documentation.
12. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
13. Drive and deliver root cause analysis for high severity issues.
14. Focus on automation and optimum use of the team to improve efficiency.

Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities:

Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the Singapore Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time; Financial Security requirements, including the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud.

Job Specific Environment:

1. Fluent in English.
2. Work schedule mainly focused on supporting Asia and EMEA (Paris) time zones; may require support during non-office hours for critical incidents.
3. Rotational Shift schedule is followed.
4. Work Hours: 2 PM – 11 PM SGT (with 1 week of General shift 9 AM – 6 PM SGT).

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
2. 6-10 years of experience, with 8 – 10 years specifically in Sybase & PostgreSQL DBA experience.
3. Knowledge of different domains of IT Security.
4. Experience in a Large enterprise level environment, preferably in a financial organization.
5. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
6. Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
