The R&D Design Engineer is responsible for the research, development, testing, and continual improvement of new andexisting CRC Evans equipment and technologies.
The role focuses on transforming conceptual ideas and operationalchallenges into robust, manufacturable engineering solutions through design, analysis, prototyping, and validation.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, the R&D Design Engineer supports innovation initiatives, investigates newtechnologies and materials, and ensures developed solutions meet performance, safety, quality, and regulatoryrequirements prior to deployment into live projects.

Education Required
- Engineering based Degree or equivalent HNC/HND 2:2 or above
Work Experience Required
- Experience in mechanical and/or electro-mechanical design environments
- Experience with product development or equipment lifecycle improvement is advantageous
- Practical exposure to manufacturing, assembly, or testing environments, desirable.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD (modelling, assemblies, drawings, FEA), preferably Solid Works.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties, and design limitations.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to novel challenges.
- Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, desirable.
- Competent with Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks through the development lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
