We're looking for a talented and driven Multi skilled Electrical Engineer to join our close-knit engineering team and take ownership of control panel designs from concept through to production. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working in a fast-paced environment, and seeing your designs come to life on the workshop floor, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of our engineering team, you'll transform customer specifications into fully designed, production-ready electrical control panels, working closely with sales, production, and project teams throughout the process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical control panels in compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations
  • Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules using CAD software such as Solid Works Electrical
  • Applying safety engineering principles and functional safety concepts to automated control systems
  • Selecting suitable components, switchgear, and control devices to meet performance, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Supporting production teams during panel build, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Liasing with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements and resolve technical challenges
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, templates, and documentation
  • Assisting with commissioning and fault-finding activities when required

Essential Skills & Experience

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Proven experience designing and drafting electrical control panels from customer specifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical control systems and automated machinery
  • Knowledge of safety engineering concepts and their practical application
  • Working knowledge of relevant UK standards, including BS EN 61439, BS 7671, and the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience within the lift, materials handling, or other safety-critical industries
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as BS EN ISO 13849 and BS EN 62061
  • Experience with PLCs, drives, or embedded control systems
  • Familiarity with UPS systems, evacuation systems, or fire-fighting lift controls
  • Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and engineering workflows
