Quality Control Supervisor
The QC Supervisor will oversee quality control activities to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and industry regulations. This role involves performing inspection and testing processes, liaising with production teams, and maintaining robust quality documentation. The QC Supervisor will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring high-quality standards in coating and inspection processes.
Role specific responsibilities
- Report directly to the PQT Manager, acting as the focal point for all Quality Control related processes & any issues.
- Maintain an associated link to the Technical Manager for any further job/process clarifications.
- Working as part of a team to promote Flawless PQT execution in relation to QHSE.
- Present the company at the highest level in regard to housekeeping and policies.
- Proactively ensure all the necessary QC equipment and consumables are available, calibrated, stored correctly, and maintained in good working order to cover all ongoing and upcoming work scopes.
- Maintain digital records of all QC equipment, certification, calibration status and working order.
- Be knowledgeable in the use of coating equipment and hand tools associated with the task.
- Work at all times within the parameters of the approved project planning and specifications.
- Regularly review documentation for accuracy, legibility & retention and recommend improvements where possible.
- Work closely with the PQT production teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and certification bodies to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformities.
- Support training initiatives to enhance quality awareness within the team.
- Lead any Pre PQT-Activities to ensure Flawless execution by reviewing any Lessons learnt & input from Proposals/Coating Engineers.
- Ensure Clients get the best possible experience during PQT’s/Demos and the V.O.C is collated, documented & Learning experiences are logged.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- NACE Level 2
Preferred Qualifications:
- NACE Level 3 qualification
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Proven experience in a quality control or supervisory role, ideally in the oil & gas, welding, or pipeline industries.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and quality plans.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Experience using quality management systems and reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and/or local legislation
