We’re looking for a detail-orientated Operations & Supply Chain Executive. In this role you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of customer orders and day-to-day supply chain activities across the UK business. The role is central to maintaining excellent customer service, supporting product availability and ensuring operational issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Working closely with Sales, Planning, Finance, third-party logistics providers and customer contacts, the Operations & Supply Chain Executive will manage sales orders from receipt through to delivery, support inventory and logistics activity, and contribute to continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Order Management
- Create, process and maintain customer sales orders accurately within SAP.
- Validate orders against customer requirements, agreed pricing, product availability and delivery parameters.
- Manage order amendments, cancellations, delivery date changes and customer-specific requirements.
- Monitor orders through the full order-to-delivery cycle, proactively identifying risks and taking corrective action.
- Communicate shortages, substitutions, delays and recovery plans clearly to customers, Sales and other internal stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve order blocks, pricing discrepancies, EDI exceptions and other order-processing issues.
- Maintain accurate order records and ensure agreed service standards, controls and cut-off times are achieved.
Customer Operations & Service
- Act as a key operational contact for customers and the Sales team.
- Respond to order, delivery, availability and account queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support service recovery activity and coordinate the resolution of customer-impacting issues.
- Build productive relationships with internal teams, customer contacts and external service providers.
- Support customer reporting, delivery performance reviews and the investigation of deductions or claims where required.
Inventory & Supply Chain Execution
- Monitor stock availability and highlight potential shortages, excess stock and service risks.
- Work with Planning to align customer requirements with available and incoming inventory.
- Support stock transfers, rework, value-added services and other inventory-related activities.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy by investigating discrepancies and coordinating corrective action.
- Support promotional activity, new product launches and product transitions from an operational perspective.
Logistics & 3PL Coordination
- Liaise with warehouse and transport partners regarding order fulfilment, deliveries and operational priorities.
- Monitor outbound delivery performance and support the achievement of OTIF and customer service targets.
- Investigate failed, late, short or damaged deliveries and coordinate resolution with the relevant parties.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in customer operations, sales order processing, supply chain or logistics.
- Hands-on ERP experience, ideally SAP, with confidence processing and managing sales orders.
- Clear communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, customer-focused and accountable approach.
- Experience in FMCG, consumer good or a retail-facing environment.
- Knowledge of EDI ordering and major retail customer processes.
- Experience working with 3PL, warehousing or transport providers.
