We are an innovative 2 partner practice based in Leyton, East London serving a practice population of over 10,000 patients. We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly practice. You will join a team of GPs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, a really supportive admin team and a friendly reception team. You will undertake all aspects of the practice nurse role including cervical screening, baby immunisations and other adult vaccines. Main duties of the job:
- Providing routine treatment in general clinics, including but not limited to:
- Childhood immunisations
- Adult Immunisations
- Cervical Smears
- Contraception
- Infection Prevention Duties
- Blood tests
- Stock ordering & management

Job responsibilities:
- The practice nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as health promotion, health prevention, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policies and procedures.
- Initiating and maintaining health screening and promotion clinics for identified areas of the practice population, recognising where modification of systems or referral is necessary.
- Managing the nursing care of patients with chronic disease, employing personal recall systems suitable to the practice needs. This includes using the practice computer systems for input of information for recall and screening purposes.
- Providing specialist care for registered patients in the following key areas: Cervical Smears, Contraception, Adult and child vaccinations.
- Providing routine treatment in general clinics, including: Wound Management and Blood tests.
Person Specification:
Experience:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Interpersonal skills; Time Management and timekeeping
- Knowledge of clinical governance
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal skills; Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
Qualifications:
- Valid smear taking pin
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
