Salary: Pro rata of £26,238 per annum. For details on the pro rata salary, see attached job description (page 6).

Hours: Up to 32 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

Role purpose: As a Learning Assistant, you will support students requiring additional help with their programmes of study across various areas within College, creating positive relationships with them and assisting them in a classroom or workshop setting. This will include students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs. The work you do as a Learning Assistant will ensure our students have a rewarding and fulfilling experience at college.

Experience and qualifications: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have experience of working with people with learning difficulties and disabilities, as well as effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. A GCSE (or equivalent) in English at grade C/4 or above is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students requiring additional help with their programmes of study across College areas, in classroom or workshop settings.
  • Create positive relationships with students and assist in their learning experience.
  • Support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs.
