Overview
In this role you lead our temporary accommodation service within Strategic Housing to ensure safe, suitable housing and meet statutory homelessness duties. You will guide a busy team, drive service improvements, and work with colleagues across Housing Services to deliver customer-focused outcomes. This is a leadership position focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable residents in a fast-paced council environment. You will shape service development while upholding the council’s One Team culture and flexible, modern working approaches.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the temporary accommodation service and a high-performing team
- Ensure statutory homelessness duties are met and decisions are well-supported
- Drive service improvements to deliver excellent outcomes for residents
- Oversee provision of suitable temporary accommodation and policy compliance
- Support complex decision-making and manage performance
- Contribute to future development and strategic direction of the service
Key requirements
- Experience of managing and developing a busy team
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, case law and statutory duties
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
