Overview
As a Subsidence Consultant, you will lead investigations into subsidence-related damage and guide claims from assessment to settlement. You work with cross-functional teams to diagnose causes, propose repairs, and document findings for clients and insurers. This role blends technical surveying with advisory responsibilities, offering meaningful impact across domestic and commercial properties. You join a training-enabled environment that supports professional qualifications and career progression, including Chartered status.
Responsibilities
- survey properties to investigate damage and diagnose subsidence causes
- prepare detailed reports for clients and internal teams
- communicate findings within defined timeframes to enable swift settlement
- conduct site visits and desktop assessments with mentor support
- participate in nationwide field operations and occasional travel/overnight stays
- utilize the training programme to progress toward Chartered status and insurance qualifications
- coordinate with internal subsidence and claims teams to align on policy details
Key requirements
- experienced surveyor with subsidence focus
- chartered or near-chartered status with ICE, IStructE, RICS, or CIOB (preferred)
- clean UK driving licence
- computer literate with MS Office
- sound understanding of domestic construction
- knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- full UK travel availability
- insurance claims handling experience desirable but not essential
- decisive and can-do approach
- strong problem-solving abilities
- clear communication of technical findings
