Responsibilities:
- Receiving and acknowledging new claims.
- Market for existing and new business lines.
- Preparing case management plans and visiting the Insured, Brokers, Claimants, Claimants’ representatives, Insurers, Re‑insurers, Captives, and retained Experts.
- Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim, including policy analysis and liability, quantum and future actions.
- Visiting sites, interviewing witnesses, and preparing witness statements.
- Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as appropriate.
- Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communication.
- Developing working relationships with existing clients and helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients.
- Maintaining and updating files and records keeping fully up to date on any technical or legal changes that may have a bearing on a case.
- Maintaining awareness of Business Continuity programme and role within it.
Qualifications:
- Experience of Engineering & Construction liability claims and / or Contractors All Risk.
- ACII and / or ACILA qualification.
- Strong communication, customer service, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to calculate and agree settlement of claims, and prepare final reports.
- Ability to work both externally and internally assessing large claims, adjusting said claims where appropriate.
- Proactive and reactive approach to meeting KPIs, SLAs and targets.
- Ability to coordinate complaints and compliments, and manage multiple concurrent actions.
- Competent use of technology and ability to work on own initiative.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Team focused – working with colleagues throughout the business.
- Customer focused and quality focused role: providing quality service to both internal and external customers.
