Overview
Craven College is an aspirational college with campuses in Skipton, at The Aviation Academy airside at Leeds Bradford Airport, and at Evolve in Ripon. The college offers full-time courses for 16–18-year-olds, apprenticeships, courses for young people with special educational needs, part-time courses, and degree level courses. Tyro Training is the commercial training division offering a wide range of courses for individuals and businesses in Skipton. The college has invested in facilities, including a £1.6m Animal Management Centre and new equestrian facilities with an international-sized arena and outdoor warm-up area.
We are seeking to employ a committed and motivated Customer Service & Admissions Officer to be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. The role provides a highly responsive customer-driven “One College” service to enquiries and admissions, and offers administrative support for the organisation. The ideal candidate will deliver information, advice, guidance, and support to current and potential students, with a strong focus on converting enquiries through application to enrolment. The role also involves managing and processing applications from internal students to UCAS, including participating in advice sessions, checking forms, adding data, and adding references.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, delivering a responsive customer-driven service to enquiries and admissions.
- Provide administrative support across the college as required.
- Offer information, advice, guidance, and support to current and potential students, with a focus on conversion from enquiry to enrolment.
- Manage and process applications from internal students to UCAS, including participating in advice sessions, checking forms, adding data, and providing references where required.
Essential requirements
- Good general education including 4 GCSEs with at least Grade C or equivalent in English.
- A qualification at least Level 3 or equivalent.
- Excellent range of administrative skills with MS Office applications.
- Experience of working in a busy, high-volume customer-focused environment.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
