Responsible and accountable for Hygiene standards across the Night Shift, Cleaning methods, CIC updates and amendments, Paperwork control, PPE control, chemical requirements, swabbing schedules ATP & Micro testing and all other aspects of the Hygiene management system. Working closely with the Technical team and other departments as part of the site's pathogen management plan. Reporting directly to the Hygiene Manager, you will be the point of contact for Night hygiene activities across the site, ensuring Hygiene standards are completed by carrying out challenging and forensic audits.

Main duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversee the hygiene standards of facilities, staffing areas and communal areas
  • Maintain stock levels, within budget controls
  • Issue PPE and Chemical stock, whilst ensuring stock levels are maintained
  • Carry out administrative tasks as instructed
  • Carry out weekly factory process and interim clean audits
  • Support in the maintenance and upkeep of CIC's
  • Ensure Audit/visitor preparation is timely and presents a high level of standards in the workplace
  • Complete weekly compliance and safety audits
  • Serve as the point of contact for all matters Hygiene during Night shift hours
  • Recruit and maintain a stable and competently trained team
  • Ensure Process Control documentation is maintained
  • Maintain stocks & ordering of Chemical consumables
  • Represent the Hygiene Dept to 3rd parties in the absence of the Hygiene Manager / Shift manager
  • Complete People Management activities for direct reports
  • Maintain a safe working environment promoting accident prevention
  • Fostering effective working relationships with other departments
  • Providing accurate & timely management reports as instructed
  • Build positive working relationships with day shift hygiene teams and drive performance through commitment and motivating factors
  • Set improvement standards and performance manage team, escalate team performance concerns
  • Ensure team have access to training required to be effective in their roles
  • Maintain and adhere to Food Safety

Requirements, experience and person specification:

  • Min 2-year Hygiene Experience within the Food industry
  • Good Factory knowledge and relationships
  • Level 3 H&S awareness
  • Level 3 Food Safety
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • L4 Listeria Management training
  • COSHH knowledge & understanding
  • Understanding of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures
  • Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting
  • Willing to undergo training
  • Reliable, attention to detail and accuracy, able to meet the deadlines

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £19.71 per hour

Expected hours: 39.38 per week
