We are looking for a Night Shift Engineer to join our established Engineering team at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for ensuring all machinery is operating correctly to maintain smooth running of production.
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 17:30 – 05:30
Duties:
- Safely carry out all tasks set to you by the engineering management.
- Share your knowledge and learn from the rest of the team.
- Ensure PPMs, maintenance, breakdowns and all work is carried out in a timely safe manner ensuring production is at a maximum uptime, and recorded.
- Assist the shift manager in developing specifications, work instructions and procedures for staff.
- Assist the shift manager with the control of workshop spares.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice in all work carried out ensuring all planned and unplanned maintenance work orders assigned to you are completed, complete all auditable paperwork required and ensure it is completed accurately.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and assist in the development of preventative maintenance mechanisms.
- Effective communications between cross functional teams and successful shift handovers, support a quality culture and have a proactive approach to quality issues.
- Create and review method statements and risk assessments, development and implementation of quality effective maintenance routines.
What you will need:
- Experience in engineering, ideally in an FMCG environment.
- A mixture of mechanical and electrical engineering skills and experience.
- Group and site induction, Reviewing of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Understanding and application of hazard identification and near miss reporting.
- Accident investigation training, Root cause analysis training.
- Understanding and application of Line safety inspections.
- Minimum qualification in NVQ Level 3 Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or multiskilled).
