Despatch Operative / Order Picker (Chilled Environment)

- 4 on / 4 off – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
About the Role
We are looking for motivated and reliable Despatch Operatives / Order Pickers to join our growing team at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon.
This is a key role within our logistics operation, ensuring that all goods are picked, checked, and despatched accurately and on time to meet production and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for despatch in line with customer specifications.
- Ensure all products are correctly labelled and recorded before loading.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency to meet daily despatch targets.
- Operate handling equipment safely (Reach Truck or Counterbalance) where trained and authorised.
- Support stock rotation and inventory control within the despatch area.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with site health and safety and food hygiene standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable, punctual, and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Be flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude.
- Hold a Reach Truck or Counterbalance licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Have previous experience in order picking, despatch, or warehouse operations (preferred, not essential).
- Comfortable working in a chilled environment – full protective clothing and warm gear will be provided.
