About the Role
At White Rose Farms Ltd, a subsidiary of Cranswick, we are a leading player in the UK's agricultural sector, specialising in pig farming. Established in 2018 and based in Yorkshire, we are dedicated to integrating traditional farming practices with modern, sustainable methods. We are seeking a keen individual to join our team as a Pig Stockperson at our farm in the Horncastle area. Our farms are high health units within our growing and finishing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating, and handling the pigs
- Loading and unloading pigs as required by the unit’s production system
- Ensuring that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies (Red Tractor Assured Standards)
- Ensuring that the five freedoms in respect of animal welfare are followed
- Adhering to Company Codes of Practice and Policies at all times
- Ensuring that all Feed Systems/Water systems and all other equipment is in good working order and fixing faults and reporting any defects immediately to your Line Manager
- Reporting any site damage immediately to the Line Manager
- Understanding the importance of biosecurity and security of the unit
- Ensuring that the unit is always kept clean and tidy and presentable to visitors with regular pressure washing being essential
- Where applicable, ensuring all buildings and compounds are secured out of working hours
About You
- Experience with livestock or an agricultural background would be advantageous, but not essential
- Ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must
- Self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and strive to go above and beyond expectations
