About the Role

Cranswick Farming Division is looking to recruit a knowledgeable and experienced Pig Specialist to support and develop farm teams across our pig production sites. This role is focused on driving high standards of animal welfare, compliance, and operational performance. You will investigate concerns, work closely with site teams to implement improvements, and provide expert guidance on best practice in pig management. You will play a key role in supporting continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act on any concerns or issues raised in relation to pig welfare and site performance
  • Carry out investigations and support farms in developing and implementing corrective action plans
  • Work with sites to identify and promote best practice in pig management
  • Recommend and support changes to improve site performance and team capability
  • Support and develop farm teams to ensure welfare and compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Provide guidance on pig production, site management, and people development
  • Promote high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity across all sites
  • Build strong working relationships with farm managers and site teams
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and follow-up actions

About You

  • Proven experience within pig production or livestock management
  • Strong understanding of animal welfare standards and farm operations
  • Ability to investigate issues, analyse findings, and produce clear, accurate reports with practical recommendations
  • Confident using computer systems to record, track, and interpret data
  • Confident influencing and supporting teams across multiple sites
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, hands-on, and solution-focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel extensively between sites
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
