Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby's) is our fast‑paced sausage facility located in Hull. Using only the best cuts of British pork, fresh herbs and spices, Cranswick is the UK's leading producer of gourmet sausages and burgers, supplying major retailers and foodservice outlets alike. We are currently recruiting a passionate and enthusiastic night shift Hygiene Team Leader to join our aspiring team.
The purpose of the role is to supervise the amenity cleaners, office cleaning, factory tote bins tray washing operatives and clean downs during production in the Mixing Area and Gourmet lines in a manner that ensures the current high standards of the site are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Supervise hygiene operatives to achieve and maintain high standards of performance, development, safety, hygiene, and discipline.
- Ensure all hygiene‑controlled documents are completed correctly and all corrective actions are completed within the agreed timescale.
- Daily report to the Hygiene manager of issues and actions already taken.
- Responsible for the training, mentoring, and coaching of the team.
- Ensure the effective training and review of hygiene operatives to a high degree of competency.
- Work with Technical / Hygiene Manager to achieve set targets (KPIs) such as microbiological standards, waste, recycling, performance, and absence management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in FMCG or a similar hygiene role.
- Good organisational skills and self‑motivation.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal in English).
- Experience leading and working with a diverse workforce.
