About the Role

An opportunity has arisen to join our small operations team at our Fridaythorpe Mill. The Mill is a key production facility within our organisation, making and distributing circa 3,000 tonnes of pig feed a week. The role is as part of our team that operate the mill from receiving raw materials right through to loading the finished feed onto the delivery vehicles. The Mill Operator primarily works in the control room using the computerised control system to produce feed in pelleted form to an agreed production schedule. Full on the job training and support is provided to understand the various functional roles within the feed mill. The Fridaythorpe Mill is part of industry leading food producer Cranswick plc, a progressive FTSE250 Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use the computerised control system to queue blending and monitor weighing tolerance.
  • Set up and monitor pellet presses.
  • Prepare hand weighed additives.
  • Ensuring feed is produced in accordance with company and UFAS standards.
  • Complete paperwork for product traceability.
  • General housekeeping to ensure the mill remains clean and tidy.
