About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Machine Operator with a background in pig farming or livestock operations. The ideal candidate will operate, maintain, and monitor farm machinery and automated systems used in daily swine production. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to animal welfare, and the ability to work in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor farm machinery including feed systems, ventilation systems, manure handling equipment, and pressure washers
  • Manage and maintain automated feeding and watering systems for swine
  • Assist with operation of tractors, skid steers, loaders, and other farm equipment
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Monitor barn climate control systems to ensure proper temperature and air quality
  • Support animal care tasks when needed, including moving pigs and maintaining clean housing conditions
  • Follow biosecurity, animal welfare, and farm safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate production and equipment logs
  • Report mechanical issues or operational concerns promptly

About You

  • Previous experience working on a pig farm or in swine production preferred
  • Experience operating agricultural machinery and heavy equipment
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of livestock handling and biosecurity practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in barn environments
