We are now recruiting for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our site in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for supporting the site with the day-to-day health and safety function of the site. Providing support on health & safety issues, proactively improving the site’s health & safety systems and processes.
Duties:- Coordinate the short & long-term group strategic plans to raise the standards of health & safety at the site as directed by the health & safety manager.
- Assist managers and supervisors to identify hazards in the workplace and to take corrective action or initiate controls to minimise the risk.
- Carry out health & safety risk assessments in line with legislation and update and review when necessary.
- Advise managers and supervisors in the implementation of local practices and procedures to ensure that the site complies with statutory requirements, guidelines, and group standards.
- Proactively support and coordinate the health & safety management system (ISO45001) for the site.
- Assist in the creating and reviewing of risk assessments after accidents/incidents.
- Liaise with the site management in respect of updates and changes in the HS&E policies and procedures.
- Support departments during the investigation of accidents & near misses that occur on site.
- Ensure all health & safety issues/reports/complaints are reported/recorded correctly and accurately.
- Assist in carrying out internal H&S audits and inspections.
- Support the site with internal monthly H&S meetings.
- Support the implementation of the company’s H&S policies and procedures.
- Look at continually improving existing systems and procedures.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards.
- Familiar with Health & Safety Management System accredited to ISO 45001.
- Food Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
- You must be a Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Flexible with working hours and duties.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ideally a background in FMCG.
- Lead with behavioural health & safety with a view to promote and encourage best practice and cultural changes.
- Rate of pay – £29,000-£32,000.
