Location: Cranswick Gourmet Sausage and Kitchen, Hull
Shift: Monday - Friday, office hours
Cranswick is one of the UK's most sustainable food producers with revenue approaching £2.3 billion. We produce and supply premium food to high-profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector, and other UK and global customers.
We are currently seeking to recruit a proactive and passionate individual for the role of Environmental and Sustainability Apprentice. The successful candidate will support the ESG strategy for Cranswick Gourmet Division and champion environmental best practice in line with the Cranswick Second Nature principles.
Main duties include (but are not limited to):
- Submit monthly environmental data accurately and with appropriate evidence
- Generate monthly board packages and weekly performance reports
- Record weekly data on energy, water and waste consumption
- Coordinate waste movements on site, ensuring compliance
- Support during external Environmental and Energy audits
- Daily inspections of internal and external areas of site
- Recording of environmental incidents / complaints
- Create posters and displays to promote environmental awareness
- Coordinate projects on energy, water and waste reduction
- Research business opportunities
Requirements, experience and person specification:
- Ability to understand systems, processes and procedures
- Delivers quality and accuracy in own work and operates to the correct working standard
- IT literate with use of Microsoft Office
- Ensures effective use of own time, ability to work to deadlines
