Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2.6 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers. We are currently recruiting for a Line Leader to be based in our Bulk Packing department within our Butchery Factory. This position will involve leading and supervising Bulk Packing Operatives, Label Verifiers, and Quality Champions within your designated line. This position will suit candidates with team leader experience within food factory/fast moving consumer goods environment. The successful candidate will be guided and trained to develop into a trainee Supervisor position, based on satisfactory performance.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Effectively manage packing area and operatives within area of responsibility
- Support attainment of production targets as directed by the Supervisors and Managers, with the ability to motivate and develop to encourage maximum productivity
- Ensure that lost production time is kept to a minimum
- Pre-operational start up checks; including controlled documents, equipment check sheets, fabrication sheets, hygiene standards and line labour management
- Understand hourly performance vs target, identify issues and deliver actions to ensure that performance targets are achieved
- Conduct CCP checks relevant to the area being worked in and report any non-conformances through the proper processes
- Support onboarding of new starters to achieve succession in their role
- Acting as a product specific expert where appropriate, working with other departments and disciplines in a manner to share and train own knowledge
You Will Have:
- Experience in a similar role: Factory / Warehouse Team Leader, Supervisor / experienced Production Operative experience
- Previous experience of fast moving consumer goods manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Proven track record of leading a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to meet daily targets
- Good understanding of good hygiene and safety
