About the Role
As part of Cranswick Farming, White Rose Farms is a high-performing indoor finishing operation, which is a part of Cranswick Farming, producing approximately 12,000 finished pigs per week.
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of operational performance and lead the continued development of our finishing business.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Area Managers, with overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the finishing operation across six production areas and multiple finishing sites.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a strong operational presence across the business.
You will promote best practice, drive performance, and support the ongoing development of Area Managers and Farm Managers, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, compliance, productivity, and team engagement are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the finishing operation across six production areas and associated finishing sites.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Area Managers and Farm Managers.
- Drive operational performance through effective management of KPIs, budgets, cost control, and production targets.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all sites.
- Analyse operational and production data to identify opportunities and implement performance improvements.
- Work closely with the Welfare & Compliance team to maintain and enhance standards across the farming operation.
- Ensure consistency in processes, standards, and best practice across all finishing sites.
- Support the delivery of strategic business objectives and long-term operational improvements.
- What we are looking for
- Proven experience in a production, operations, or agricultural management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Demonstrable experience of root cause analysis and delivering sustainable solutions.
- A proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing KPIs, budgets, and performance targets.
- Ability to analyse operational and quality data to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Experience within agriculture, livestock production, food manufacturing, or a related production environment.
- Understanding of animal welfare, compliance, and quality assurance standards.
