About the Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced and driven HR Manager to join our team at Cranswick Farming, reporting to the Head of HR. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering our people agenda. You will provide both strategic and operational HR leadership, supporting employee engagement, performance, talent development, and organisational effectiveness across our Yorkshire and Lincolnshire farming operations. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence business performance through people‐focused initiatives while supporting managers and employees across a diverse and fast‐paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance on employee relations, attendance management, recruitment, engagement, and performance management.
- Support and coach managers on a wide range of HR matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and capability processes.
- Use people metrics, KPIs, and employee feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with farm management teams across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, travelling to sites as required.
- Support organisational development, talent management, and succession planning activities.
- Partner with managers to develop high-performing teams and improve employee engagement.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation.
- Support the Head of HR in developing, mentoring, and coaching members of the HR team.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support business objectives and operational excellence.
- Promote a positive workplace culture that supports employee wellbeing, engagement, and development.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent.
- Proven HR management experience within a fast-paced environment, ideally within food production, agriculture, manufacturing, or a similar operational setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases and supporting managers through complex HR issues.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and use insights to inform decision‐making.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of the business.
- Collaborative team player who builds positive and respectful working relationships.
- Proactive, resilient, and solution-focused approach to problem‐solving.
