Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our expanding team, working Monday to Friday.
The ideal candidate will manage the Inbound and Stores team, developing a multi‐skilled, multi‑disciplined workforce that operates on shifts in a unionised environment.
Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt of dry goods in compliance with customer specifications, food hygiene regulations, and health and safety legislation.
- Oversee intake and dispatch yards, including the recycling area, storage of crates and pallets, and any off‑site locations.
- Develop and manage a multi‑skilled, multi‑disciplined team operating on shifts in a unionised environment.
- Plan daily stock checks, monitor anomalies, and establish root causes.
- Lead daily cockpit meetings on all shifts, discussing the day ahead and future references.
- Drive cost benefits through recycling methods and best practice, and investigate new ways of working.
- Ensure contractual obligations with hire companies for pallets and trays, guaranteeing timely supply to the factory.
- Review, update, and rewrite SOPs, implementing a verification process to ensure compliance.
- Manage all on‑site MHE, maintaining a recorded log of all work performed.
- Ensure the 4‑hour plan is followed to achieve on‑time, in‑full delivery for all production needs.
- Cover for the Intake/Dispatch Manager and Level 3 Food Safety Group during holidays and absences, including site induction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level3 health and safety qualification.
- Either IOSH Managing Safely or a Cranswick equivalent degree; or equivalent industry experience (minimum 2 years) in logistics and warehouse discipline.
- Experience managing multiple direct reports across several shift patterns.
- Extensive knowledge of process control systems in an FMCG environment.
- Experience measuring and presenting KPI performance data.
- Strong IT literacy, confident in email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Navision and MRP experience preferred, including reporting functions.
- Familiarity with business processes such as NPD, Finance, Commercial, Production, HR, and Planning.
- Hazard and near‑miss reporting experience, accident investigation training, and current risk assessment knowledge.
