Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Senior Supervisor to oversee the Despatch Supervisors, Chargehands, and Operatives. The Senior Supervisor will effectively and efficiently manage daily operations of the Despatch department, whilst maximising profitability, reducing waste and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Manage the control and monitoring of all weights and invoices for the Despatch of products
- Provide cover for supervisor’s holidays/sickness if no other arrangements can be made
- Ensure that all products are dispatched in a timely manner and according to customer requirements
- Maintain the correct balances with regard to the ordering of supermarket trays and pallets ensuring that orders are not excessive or that there is a shortfall on trays when required
- Investigate any failure to achieve the agreed targets and to implement any corrective action required
- Support the Despatch Manager in maintaining a continuous improvement culture
- Maintain quality and legality of product in line with customer specifications and standards, ensuring GMP and technical requirements are adhered to
- Work closely with Department Managers to investigate ways of improving product quality
- Ensure that Supervisors are working to achieve the agreed KPI targets in relation to staffing levels, costs, absences and skills levels
- Maintain appropriate levels of staff and ensuring that wage bills are commensurate with output
- Resolve any issues with customers such as complaints and queries
- Deliver on key performance indicators including; people, quality, health, safety and environment, cost optimisation, customer service and project delivery
- Ensure that the management operations systems for the area are accurately managed to enable responsive, fact based management of the operation
- Stock control; manage the control of finished and raw material stock
You Will Have:
- Experience in a similar role - Warehouse/Factory (Senior) Supervisor
- Experience leading a team (essential)
- Examples of working towards KPIs and delivering positive results
- Previous experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment
