We're looking for an experienced and motivated Temporary Night Hygiene Supervisor to join our team at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon in Sherburn-in-Elmet.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in FMCG, ideally within a food manufacturing environment, who is passionate about maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, quality and team performance throughout the night shift.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and support the Night Hygiene team to achieve high standards of performance, hygiene, safety and discipline.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members, ensuring they are fully trained and competent.
  • Ensure all hygiene activities are completed to schedule and meet required GMP, KPI and quality standards.
  • Monitor team performance and take appropriate corrective action where required.
  • Work closely with Production, Technical, Health & Safety and Management teams to resolve issues effectively.
  • Complete and maintain all required technical and hygiene documentation accurately.
  • Monitor cleaning chemicals, equipment and stock levels, ensuring resources are available and maintained appropriately.
  • Promote continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve hygiene standards and working practices.
  • Challenge unsafe behaviours and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, company policies and site procedures.
  • Provide daily updates to the Hygiene Manager on issues, actions and performance.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, respectful and high-performance team culture throughout the night shift.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within FMCG manufacturing, preferably food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Minimum Level 3 Food Safety.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations professionally and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, health & safety and GMP standards.
  • A positive, flexible and "can-do" attitude.
