We are looking for a Site Service Engineer to join our established team at Cranswick Country Foods Fresh Poultry in Eye, Suffolk. You will be responsible for operating the effluent treatment plant, maintaining compliance with the discharge consent limits set in the site’s Environmental permit, and supporting reactive maintenance and PPMs within the plant.
Shift Pattern: 05:30‑17:30, working 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off on a fortnightly rotation.
Duties:
- Ensure PPMs, maintenance, breakdowns and all work is carried out in a timely, safe manner and documented.
- Carry out all relevant tests on the water system required by engineering management.
- Undertake daily and weekly effluent sampling and tests in accordance with ENV.810.
- Complete all auditable paperwork/documentation required and ensure it is completed accurately.
- Document results from all internally tested samples as per ENV.810 on form ENV.507 by the end of each working day.
- Work to maintain compliance with our environmental permit, ensuring all direct influence on permit conditions is upheld.
- Monitor compliance with the site’s discharge to water consent limits (including COD, BOD, phosphorus, suspended solids, ammonia, pH, etc.).
- Send samples of treated effluent for third‑party analysis at independent laboratories.
- Monitor all tank levels, flow rates and trends on the Marel Scada system and report any concerns to engineering management or the Environmental team promptly.
- Order chemicals, parts used and services.
- Create and review method statements and risk assessments.
