We are currently seeking a supervisor based at our new Preston cold store. The purpose of this role is to, working under the guidance of the Senior Supervisor, effectively and efficiently ensure products are received and built correctly in accordance with site guidelines and customer requirements. This person will be responsible for all products entering the cold store, with the correct traceability and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the box freezer and palletising area of the new cold store, receipting products, ensuring stock is frozen and palletised efficiently in store for easy access and stock taking.
  • Can clearly communicate with peers, Supervisors, Managers and representatives from external bodies.
  • Ensure all stock is loaded into the freezer and stock is built up with the correct traceability in good time to assist production and the cold store.
  • Ensure all part pallets are made up efficiently.
  • Ensure all MHE and Racking are maintained and any issues are raised.
  • Support the Stock Controller in stock takes to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Liaise with Administrators to ensure smooth operational control.
  • Liaise with other departments on the intake of goods into the cold store.
  • Instruct and oversee operations staff carrying out standard duties.
  • Deputise for other supervisors/team members when absent/holidays.
  • Certify that all required checks are completed to ensure the integrity of the product are satisfactory.
  • Assist the Supervisors in issuing Team Briefs/Tool Box Talks as necessary.
  • Develop all Operatives to achieve competency in any task given to them.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role (team leader / supervisor / chargehand).
  • Experience leading and supervising a team.
  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related).
  • Knowledge of export procedures & product segregation.
  • Resilience & able to adapt to change.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment to daily targets, in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Good level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, CMEX, WAMAS).

Employment Details

  • Monday - Friday, 14:00-22:30, 40hrs Contract.
