About Crown Milling: Crown Milling, part of multi‑million pound Cranswick Plc, is an industry‑leading sustainable agricultural feed business operating four feed mills in Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
We are recruiting for an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to be the first point for all environmental and sustainability matters across our four feed mills, ensuring all sites are legally compliant with environmental legislation. You will push the business’s ‘Second Nature’ agenda from bottom up in line with the group’s sustainability targets and be active in promoting continuous improvement across sites. Our mills are located across the eastern counties and we are accepting applications from candidates in any of these areas. Regular travel, including overnight stays, will be required between the mills.

- Kenninghall, Norfolk
- Hoxne, Suffolk
- Fridaythorpe, East Yorkshire
- Elsham, Lincolnshire
Shift Pattern – Monday – Friday, 8 am‑5 pm
Duties:
- First contact on site for any environmental incidents or complaints and ensuring all incidents/complaints are fully investigated and associated forms filled out and reported to group.
- Ensure all permit requirements are being fulfilled across the milling business.
- Maintain the sites EMS and EnMS to ISO14001 and ISO50001 standards and lead internal and external audits.
- Liaise with all departments and levels of the business for continuous improvement in terms of utilities usage and carbon emissions.
- ‘Bottom up’ approach and upskilling workforce in line with the Cranswick PLC group sustainability targets.
- Ensure all environmental/sustainability data is submitted to group monthly.
- Ensure all Environmental legislation is being adhered to.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive decarbonisation projects in line with group targets.
- Attend senior weekly KPI meetings to discuss environmental performance.
- Work with the Group Environmental Manager for legal compliance, audits, stakeholder visits etc.
- Liaise with colleagues in other departments to ensure the throughput of all products in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contribute to KPIs in quality, health, safety and environment, yields and customer service.
What you will need:
- At least 3 years’ experience in an Environmental and Sustainability role.
- Experience in Agriculture/Milling is beneficial, however not essential.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO14001 and ISO50001.
- ISEP membership (Associate level or above).
- Experience in liaising with external stakeholders.
