We are pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Unit Manager to assist with the running of a Breeding Unit near Mildenhall, Suffolk.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the condition of livestock on the unit
  • Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies
  • Responsible for the condition of all equipment fixed and movable on the unit
  • Adhere to Company Codes of Practice and Policies
  • Adhere to Statutory Obligations – Hygiene, Environmental & Welfare
  • Ensure the unit is kept in good, tidy condition
  • Ensure the unit remains secure
  • Assist in the management of performance and reporting of the unit to designated targets
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the landlord (where applicable)
  • Provide leadership, commercial focus and direction to the team
  • Handle paperwork and keeping administrative records with accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards and health and safety standards
  • You must have your own transport
  • You must be flexible, lead by example in all that you do and support other colleagues/teams and management
  • You must be reliable and demonstrate good time keeping
  • Animal Welfare must be prioritised at all times, ensuring that the company codes of Practice and policies are adhered to

Qualifications

  • Previous practical experience with livestock is required and previous managerial experience is desirable

Pay & Benefits

  • Salary – 30-35k per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Pension – 3% employer contributions / 5% employee contributions
  • The shift pattern is Monday to Friday with alternate weekend work; total of 45 hours per week
