Job Purpose
Reporting to the Shift Manager, this role is responsible for the effective transfer of product from production (process) to packing. This means that any waste during transfer is captured, the QCP equipment is working correctly, and the correct screens are in place. This role will also assist the mill in raw material transfers and will also provide cover for waste management. The nature of this role means other elements of support to areas of the factory will be required from time to time.
Key deliverables expected are:
- You leave work in the same condition you arrive.
- You help to ensure the best quality product is received to the packing hall.
- You will reduce waste by capturing and managing it.
- You work well with your peers and under the direction of the Shift Manager to undertake the above, and any other duties commensurate with the role.
Main Duties:
- Traceability of product including quantities within the WIP bin installation.
- Purge of product to prevent cross contamination.
- Follow the production plan to fit the correct size mesh screens to the Mogensen sieves as according to the matrix for these meshes per product.
- Set-up Tomra optical sorters to suit the product coming through.
- At the end of each production run, collect ALL regrind collection bins and totes and collate into coded regrind totes (usually 2), print a ticket consume on CEMEX and remove to the sheds for use by the mill operators.
- As an FLT driver assist with other areas as and when required including raw material transfers into the mill.
- Provide an element of cover to site waste management when required.
Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:
- Very self-starting and takes pride and ownership of their area.
- Very helpful and looks to support others.
- FLT License (or willing to train).
- Manufacturing background. Preferably in food, pet food or FMCG.
- Food Safety L2.
- Awareness of BRC.
- Honest and empathetic with a sense of perspective.
- Team player. We win together and lose together.
- Open to change and willing to learn.
