The Head of Supply Chain is a full-time, on-site role based in Bury, responsible for end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for the Cranswick Continental Division.
Are you a strategic and results-driven supply chain professional with a passion for optimising stock control? We’re looking for a Head of Supply Chain to lead our stock control team and support the Purchasing & Supply Chain Director in delivering an effective buying and supply chain strategy. As a key part of our supply chain function, you will work alongside our buying, operations, and commercial teams to ensure the right raw materials are supplied, stock levels are maintained, and production runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will also take an active role in senior management, driving performance improvements and supplier efficiencies.
The day to day:
- Lead the stock control team, ensuring high service levels from suppliers
- Forecast materials accurately and optimise stock holdings on-site and at suppliers
- Implement and track supply chain strategies, ensuring smooth movement of goods
- Analyse supply chain data, resolve issues, and implement contingency plans
- Manage supplier performance reviews and drive improvement plans
- Ensure supply chain practices align with company policies, laws, and regulations
- Identify and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency and minimise risks
- Develop, monitor, and report weekly supply chain KPIs
- Collaborate with senior management to drive business growth
Qualifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience in a senior supply chain role within an FMCG, manufacturing, or retail environment
- Experience managing European and/or global supply chains
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and industry best practices
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders
