About the role
We are looking for an experienced and passionate
Supplier Approval Manager to join our Customer Technical team.
This role will be responsible for working closely with the technical accounts team in managing and keeping up to date Continental Fine Foods supplier approval systems for safety, legality, quality and authenticity.
This role is an onsite role working at our Manufacturing site in Bury, Greater Manchester.

- Key Duties
- Completing supplier approvals and risk assessments for all raw materials used by Continental Fine Foods are kept up to date.
- Ensure all supplier approvals are correct and up to date.
- Ensure all raw material specifications are kept up to date.
- Dealing with any customer queries regarding raw material specifications and/or supplier assessment forms.
- Working with the commercial team to ensure customer / supplier details are managed and supplied as needed.
- Working with the Compliance Manager to maintain and update the relevant procedures related to managing the Raw Material Supply base.
- Being an active part of the HACCP team.
- Risk-assess processing details for all raw materials; complete the risk assessment and communicate to relevant departments.
- Draw up and manage an audit schedule for raw material suppliers.
- Assist the Head of Technical in ensuring the audit schedule is met by carrying out supplier audits as needed.
- Where needed attend customer audits and any supplier follow-up audits.
- Carry out preliminary approval of new / concept raw material with NPD prior use.
- Attend all NPD feasibility meetings and actively participate as part of the technical team.
- Manage customer alerts and communicate to relevant departments / supply chain.
- Work closely with the technical account team to ensure correct information is transferred to customer specifications.
- Manage the system for supply chain traceability exercises.
- Support the Head of Technical to manage the agents requirement to meet customer expectations
- Be involved in customer, second- and third-party audits
