Agriculture Supply Chain & Sustainability Manager
Location: Bury (with UK & international travel β Europe & Brazil)
Cranswick Continental Foods, part of Cranswick plc, a FTSE 250 UK food producer, is seeking an experienced and passionate Agriculture Supply Chain & Sustainability Manager to drive standards, build supplier partnerships, and champion sustainability across our European agricultural supply chain. Our Continental Foods division specialises in sourcing and supplying high-quality charcuterie, cheeses, olives, and Mediterranean ingredients, working with trusted partners across Europe. Together, we are focused on delivering great food with integrity, supporting high animal welfare, and driving sustainable practices across all areas of our supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with our Charcuterie, Dairy, Olive, and Ingredients suppliers across Europe, ensuring compliance with animal welfare and agricultural standards.
- Lead supplier visits and audits, promoting best practices and retailer standards on farms and through abattoir data.
- Provide expert advice on emerging issues including legislation, food scares, and welfare standards, keeping internal teams and retail partners fully informed.
- Develop and deliver sustainability strategies aligned with Cranswick\βs Second Nature programme, helping drive our net zero goals.
- Coordinate and conduct farm audits, offering guidance and solutions to improve standards and protect brand integrity.
- Act as a key contact for animal welfare and agricultural queries from customers, working closely with our Technical and Commercial teams.
- Keep up to date with current and upcoming agricultural legislation and ensure proactive compliance.
- Support sites to meet agreed KPIs while fostering continuous improvement and best practice across our supply chain.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Food, Agriculture, or Science.
- At least three years\β experience in the food or agriculture sector β ideally with knowledge of pig production.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively at all levels.
- Auditing skills with attention to detail to protect and enhance Cranswick\βs brand.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with a passion for sustainability and animal welfare.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK, Europe (including Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece), and Brazil.
- Familiarity with retailer animal welfare standards and supply chain sustainability programmes.
- Experience of farm auditing and troubleshooting at supplying farms.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
