An exciting opportunity has arisen for food production operatives to join our kitchen team in our Prep Area, working days. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like to learn, have variety in their role and learn how to cook in our busy kitchens! This role would suit someone who has food manufacturing experience, a passion for cooking and who would now like to transition into the kitchen.
PLEASE NOTE – THIS ROLE REQUIRES SOME HEAVY LIFTING
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Under the guidance of the Area Manager, ensure that each product specification is followed, and any anomalies are reported immediately
- Loading and unloading cookers, blast chillers and holding chillers whilst monitoring & documenting product temperatures
- Setting of cooker programmes and delay timers
- Manage products through the manufacturing process in accordance with agreed technical, hygiene & quality standards
- Work efficiently to achieve daily production & cooking plan and communicate any shortfalls or problems in a timely manner
- Operate tools, machines & equipment, for which training will be provided so you can assist in the food manufacturing process
- Maintain full and accurate cooking and cooling records within agreed timescales
- Maintain best hygiene practices when loading and unloading products in order to prevent cross contamination from occurring
- Complete all paperwork as instructed accurately and within specific time frames
Candidate requirements:
- A keen desire to learn and progress
- Ability to be able to lift heavy loads
- Good standard of English, both orally & written
- Food Hygiene certificate an advantage and basic understanding of health & safety
- Experience of working in food production
- Self-motivated, reliable with good timekeeping
- Basic numeric & literacy skills
