At Cranmead we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead the daily operations of our residential children's home in Chailey, East Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding for looked-after children and young people, building and leading a skilled staff team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children whilst fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
The Registered Manager will lead and inspire a staff team to deliver high quality care and support to children and young people using a trauma informed approach. This role requires strong leadership, management skills, and a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable young people. The Registered Manager will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and promote continuous improvement within the home. By applying knowledge and research into practice and working innovatively to understand the impact of trauma we are committed to the highest quality of care. We believe in nurturing positive relationships and are wholly dedicated to never giving up on a child.
This is a varied and challenging role where the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- A success in supporting adolescents with complex histories through the most challenging times.
- At least two years management experience in a social care setting, preferably within residential services.
- At least two years' experience of working in a residential children's setting.
- A relevant professional qualification, such as Diploma Level 5 in management.
- Be able to register with Ofsted as a Children's Home Manager.
- Ability to lead in a flexible, innovative and inspiring manner.
- Determination to keeping the child at the heart of decision making.
- A therapeutic approach to care, understanding the impact of trauma.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and collaboratively work as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to receive feedback from both young people and other professionals and implement change.
