A growing engineering business delivering specialist process solutions into the dairy, food & beverage industries is looking to appoint a Project Engineer to support the delivery of customer projects from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will take ownership of projects, working closely with customers, internal teams, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful delivery across scope, cost, schedule and quality.

Location: Sparkford, Somerset
Office-Based + Regular UK Travel
Responsibilities:
- Act as the main technical point of contact for assigned projects
- Manage projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery to scope, budget and agreed timelines
- Interpret customer requirements and translate these into practical engineering solutions, equipment selection and project work packages
- Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and on-site activity
- Manage project risks, technical queries, design changes and project documentation
- Lead customer meetings, project reviews and progress updates
- Produce project documentation including technical specifications, commissioning documentation and completion reports
- Support installation, commissioning and customer handover activities
- Drive quality, continuous improvement and successful project delivery throughout
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering
- Proven project engineering experience within the dairy, food or beverage industries
- Experience delivering projects involving process equipment, manufacturing systems, utilities or production environments
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical engineering documentation
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Confident working directly with customers, suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple project priorities
- Good understanding of health & safety and engineering best practice
- Full UK driving licence
Additional Information:
- Regular UK travel with a strong presence on customer sites, including occasional overnight stays where required
- This role is best suited to an engineer with prior experience in the food, dairy or beverage industries due to the specialist nature of the projects
- Hybrid role in Sparkford, Somerset
