A growing engineering business delivering process solutions into the food & beverage sector is looking to appoint a Process Design Engineer to support the development of process designs and technical solutions across a range of projects. This role sits at the front end of the project lifecycle, working closely with the sales team, customers and internal engineering teams to develop process designs, specifications and proposals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop process flow diagrams and P&IDs using AutoCAD / Autodesk software
- Create specifications for process equipment including pumps, valves and heat exchangers
- Support technical proposals and quotation content
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with customers
- Support HAZOP / HACCP and design risk assessments
- Collaborate with mechanical design, automation and project teams
- Support commissioning activities where required
Requirements:
- Background in Chemical or Process Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree level)
- Experience in process design and development of P&IDs
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (Plant 3D advantageous)
- Office-based role with 25–30% travel to customer sites
- Food & beverage experience preferred, though candidates from broader process industries will be considered
- Opportunity to work closely with sales and technical teams on a range of projects
